Kirameki-2 satellite successfully launched from Japan , Japan first military communication satellite


As we all are familiar with Japan current developing condition , afterall it is the most developed country . Due to this point of view , when all of us comes to know about new satellite that Japan recently launched , most of us don't bother it  seriously as we expect it from Japan . But the latest current affair is that Japan has launched its first ever military communication satellite , that actually make a difference. Let us know more about this satellite :-


Japan recently on 27th Jan launched the first ever military communication satellite successfully named as kirameki-2 (kii-rah-meh-kee 2) satellite from somewhere in Japan.

The satellite was launched or lifted off from The tanegashima space centre that is located in southern part of Japan. The satellite was lifted up by on board H-2A rocket.

This satellite will sure by the new era of evolution so let us know more about this satellite :-

Kirameki-2 satellite


Kirameki-2 or you can say DNS-2 is a geostationary communicational satellite operated by DNS communication.
Kirameki-2 will be used for military communication by Japanese military. This satellite was successfully launched and deployed on 24 January 2017.

About kirameki-2 satellite role


  • This satellite was launched to upgrade Japanese military communication services with existing communication services , in the assertive face of threats by North Korea's missile.
  • This satellite is the 3 of first satellite that will replace the existing 3 civilian satellite currently working for Japanese military communication services.
  • These new satellites will allow Japan for military units to work at high speed action and aware of enemies next step.
  • These satellites will also be used by Japanese officials to keep an eye on international overseas for the peacemaking operations that also includes overseas of Somali coast.
