ICBM Agni-IV successfully test fired off Odisha coast


With a range of more than 4,000 km , Nuclear capable Agni-IV missile successfully test-fired off Odisha coast from balsore.

India , recently conducted the final test-firing of another nuclear - capable strategic ballistic missile , named Agni-IV , after test firing it a week from Balsore in Odisha coast on Monday. Agni-IV was test fired with a range of more than 4,000km.

About Agni-IV 

Agni-IV is an intermediate range ballistic missile which came service in 2014 used by Indian armed forces . Defense research and development organisation (DRDO) designed this missile and was manufactured by Bharat dynamic limited.

It weighs 17,000 kg (37,000 lb) and its length is about 20 metres (66 ft. Approx.).

It is the fourth in the Agni series of missile which was previously known as Agni II prime.

The missile has some tremendous advantages like it has light weight as compared to others and also it has two stages of solid propulsion and contains a payload of re - entry heat shield.

Dr. Vijay Kumar saraswat , scientific advisor to raksha mantri , secretary , and Director General of DRDO congrats all the scientists and employees of DRDO who worked very hard to make this missile a successful decision for the future.

After the successful launch of Agni-IV, the government of India has to prove out that it's strategic capabilities were not harmful against any of the particular country because Agni-IV abides and follows all the universal rules, laws and obligations in a reaction to Chinese action to the development.

Agni-IV faced slot of up downs in last five years. 

*On 15 November 2011 , Agni-IV was successfully test fired for the first time .
*On 19  September 2012 , Agni-IV was successfully test fired from wheeler island in Odisha.
*On 20 January 2014 , Agni-IV was test fired but it fall 100 m before the target was set.
*On 2 December 2014 , Agni-IV was successfully test fired.
*On 9 November 2015 , Agni-IV was successfully test fired. According to DRDO officials , the missile met all the mission parameters.
*On 2 January 2017, Agni-IV was successfully test fired.
