At corruption perception index , India ranked at 79th position


There are almost 179 countries out of which India has been ranked at 79th position in the corruption perception index (CPI) recently updated report of the year 2016 by the Berlin based watchdog of corruption transparency international (TI).

This index actually works from 0 (most corrupted countries) to 100 ( corruption free) , the countries are ranked by this scale ranging score.

The index completed by fetching data from world bank data , world economic forum (WEF).

The corruption perception index (CPI) organization currently ranks 168 countries from 0 to 100 ranging scale.

Transparency international (TI)


Transparency international (TI) is an international non-governmental organization which was established in 1993. Transparency international has headquarter located in Berlin , Germany.
The aim of this organization is to fight against corruption , crime and prevention of country.

About corruption perception index report:-


  • New Zealand has topped the list and is ranked at 1st (score of 90) , continuing this list Denmark ranked at 2nd (same score as new Zealand) , Finland scored 3rd , Sweden at 4th , Switzerland at 5th , Norway scored 6th , Singapore ranked at 7th , Netherland at 8th , Canada at 9th  and Germany is ranked at 10th position respectively.
  • In this list , India , China , Brazil scored ranging of 40.
  • Last year , in 2015 India was with the score of 38 which clearly shows India has increased its growth with inequality in the index of corruption perception.
  • Meanwhile , south Asia has proved for performing poorly this year . Nepal scored rank of 29th position and Bangladesh at 27th.
  • India in this index , ranked at 79th position. India's ongoing poor performances shoes inequality and scandals with a petty corruption effecting deals.
