Health ministry to roll out measles-rubella vaccine



Hello all the reader , this article is to inform all of you that health ministry is taking some measures.

Is it a good step or worthless? 😰

Now the question arises , what impact will it create.



According to recent updates health ministry is all set to roll out measles-rubella vaccine in the universal immunisation program which will most probably starts from Feb 2017 onwards.


What is measles-rubella vaccine?

Measles-rubella vaccine is a step to prevent diseases like measles ,mumps ,and rubella . It is an anti disease vaccine which will act improvisely against these diseases.

Now the question arises what is these so called diseases (measles, mumps ,rubella) ?

Measles-  it is disease which create health problems like fever, headache , cough , red watery eyes , rash etc. Measles also give rise to complications like diarrhea , ear infection , death , brain damage.

Mumps- it is disease which give boost to fever , headache , swallows salivary glands , lazyness , muscles arches. Mumps almost acts as measles but it differs in the complication including deafness , inflammation of the brain , it also inflammates the muscles covering the spinal cord , rarely causes death.

Rubella-  it causes fever, headache , eyes swallows , sore throats. If a woman while her pregnancy she can face problems like abortion or can give birth to a challenged child.

 What is MMR vaccine?

It is an injection which prevents disease like mumps , rubella and measles. However this vaccine sometimes causes some side-effects but it is better to have side-effects than measles, mumps and rubella.


  • The MR Vaccine will be introduced on 5 states and union territory i.e Puducherry, Goa , Lakshadweep , Tamil nadu , Karnataka.
Universal immunisation program

It is an immunisation program launched by government of India in 1985. The program includes vaccination of child diseases like diarrhea , fever , cold etc. Hepatitis B was also added in Universal immunisation program.
